I love details, and curating the perfect party. Being in the stationery/wedding industry it all seems fitting, but when you're not just the planner, but you're the bride's sister AND maid-of honor, the stakes for executing the "perfect" shower are set high! Insert permanent eye twitch and massive case of agita, BUT, with an amazing group of bridesmaids, some top-notch vendors, and my MOM, I think it's fair to say, we nailed (#killedit) the "Summer Solstice" Bridal Shower!
My sister, Beth, really wanted a cocktail style-evening shower. In the thick of wedding season, we were beyond lucky to find a venue that had ONE Saturday left in the entire season! Thank you, Turner's! Having my sister's shower at Turner's was also quite nostalgic, as it was the same location where my shower was held, about 11 years prior (under the previous venue "The Lyceum"). The location and all the details regarding the shower were a surprise, but she wanted to know the date (nothing worse than showing up for your own shower not properly dressed!). Keeping all the fun details from her was very hard! (But I did it!)
The invitations were designed with a whimsical font and elements reminding me of a charcuterie board (which we both love!). Using a real wood envelope liner and fig and rosemary graphics, we were able to set the tone for her guests.
Carrying this theme into the evening, we began the night in one half of the venue with a "cocktail hour" filled with succulents refreshing cocktails with floral infused ice, charcuterie, laughter, and live music!
My sister and her fiancé, Eric, assumed the entire evening would be spent in that same room, until we open the doors into the ballroom for part two! Dinner, gifts and dessert! The tables were set with champagne colored linens, muslin-gauze table runners, lose whimsical arrangements, and a dinner menu coordinating with the shower invitation.
The dessert scape was filled with stunning vanilla bean cupcakes, espresso French Macarons, gorgeous custom succulent cookies, more flowers and beautiful custom calligraphy!
My sister and Eric loved opening items from their registry to complete their home, and even their tiny home! (They are the proud owners of a rehabbed vintage Scotty camper which they were traveling in when they got engaged!)
The night ended with more dancing, cocktails and so much laughter and love! Cheers to my sister (my best friend) and Eric (my soon to be brother), I love you both so very much and could not be more happier for the both of you! Cheers to the future, and what an amazing one it will be! xo
